13 April 2008 Fortunately the hailstorm had passed but it was still raining heavily when 86101 passed Sandy on the return 5G02 Doncaster-Bounds Green ECS with the spray from the pantograph adding to the effect.

13 April 2008 The 1345 Kings Cross-Sunderland Grand Central service with 43067 leading 43084. An hour earlier 43080 and on hire Midland Mainline liveried 43166 had also worked north in the middle of the hailstorm.
