3 May 2008 With the WCML blockade, four engineering trains were noted around Milton Keynes. 60071 is parked south of the footbridge at Bradwell although the stream was rather wider than anticpated to get to this shot and I didn't quite manage to clear it on the way back!

6 May 2008 A return visit for test unit 950001 on the branch working as 2Q08 from Derby to Milton Keynes approaching Lidlington. Whether it reached MK I do not know as the services around Bletchley were suspended following a power failure.

6 May 2008 08578 is not normally easily photographed. It is seen shunting a rake of autoballasters at Forders. It may not be the easiest loco to spot, but obviously the graffiti artists manage to find it!

7 May 2008 My first first to Gordons Lodge sees 92029 head north with 4H17. This location offers an excellent southbound shot, but northbound is quite limited.

7 May 2008 The latest unit to arrive at Wolverton for repainting is 323210, seen passing Gordons Lodge on the fast having run from Soho via Weedon.

8 May 2008 DRS Hire In 66423 worked light from Gresty Road to take charge of the 4O13 Daventry - Southampton, so presumably the rostered loco was required to cover a failure?

9 May 2008 Not many daylight pairs of 86s so far this month. 86627/38 were in charge of 4L75 at Wolverton and 86638 seems to have had some work undertaken on the cabs as new paintwork is in evidence.

9 May 2008 350101 is the latest to lose the blue window vinyls and is presumably next in line for the LM vinyls. It departs Wolverton for Northampton.

9 May 2008 More signal problems at Hanslope as 321427/419 approach Wolverton, having taken around 50 minutes from Northampton instead of 15!

10 May 2008 Seven new Fastline IIA coal hoppers were collected from Wembley and taken to Hexthorpe Road, Doncaster by 66430 running as 4Z75. They are seen approaching Castlethorpe at 2pm on Saturday afternoon and are now in service on the new Daw Mill-Ratcliffe service.

10 May 2008 A bonus on the visit for 4Z75 was a triple headed 4H17 Wembley-Trafford Park. 90019 provides the power with 90026 and 92042 DIT.

13 May 2008 86639 failed on the GE main line with 4M41 to Daventry last night and was rescued by 90042. The pair are seen returning through Bradwell with the 4L41 Daventry-Felixstowe.
