2 June 2008 I decided to head for Soulbury, 6A42 was booked at Bletchley for an hour and Tangmere due a water stop. As I arrived Tangmere sailed through steaming well, no need for water, and 6A42 hadn't stopped either! Doing its impersonation of Tangmere, 56301 with a Northampton-Grain after 56303 failed on 30 May. 56301 was also to fail later in the week.
