22 August 2008 I wasn't sure exactly where 4L97 had stopped, except that it was south of Bletchley. When I arrived 57301 had already been attached to the rear opposite the lakes estate.

22 August 2008 Smoke still drifting out of the offside vents on 86501 as she stands north of the A4146 bypass bridge about 13:15.

27 August 2008 A chance visit to the depot and the Allely's low loader had arrived. I returned an hour or so later and 86501 was already loaded. Hardcore had been spread along one of the engineers sidings to allow the low loader to reverse onto the track.

27 August 2008 Reversing out of the engineers yard across the sloped drive to Bletchley depot was accomplished by adjusting the suspension on the trailer to keep the 86 completely level.

27 August 2008 86501 is backed into the depot entrance - the depot is a sorry sight with windows boarded up.

27 August 2008 We thought that 6233 or perhaps 08874 was the last loco to leave, but 86501 stakes its claim as it descends the drive.
